Can I make cold Blue Lotus tea?Updated a month ago
Yes, Blue Lotus can technically be steeped in cold water, especially if the intention is to enjoy a lightly aromatic, gentle infusion. That said, for best results, we usually recommend steeping the flowers in hot, but not boiling water, ideally around 160-180°F. This helps preserve the delicate volatile oils and alkaloids without damaging the petals, giving a more potent and aromatic tea.
If a cold preparation is preferred (especially during warmer months), we suggest making a hot infusion first, then allowing it to cool and serving it over ice. This method ensures better extraction while still offering a refreshing cold tea experience.
